January 2015
This is a surprisingly fancy (and good) restaurant, hidden amongst suburbia.
The staff here are odd, but interesting. :)
The male waiter doesn't quite ask "and what will Sir be having tonight", but has the dulcet tones and poise of the fanciest of waiters.
The female waiter, not so much. She hands the menu more to my face than my hands, and punts my drink right across the table to me, much like one would take a shot across a pool table.
Greek food tends to be simple, whereas I'm personally looking for complex tastes, so I'm not much of a fan of Greek food.
However, I've heard that it's ok to smash your plate on the ground if you don't like your food. :)
On the way into the city, I notice the traffic is thin. It isn't too hard to park, either…
I discover most things aren't open…
Damn you public holidays!!! :O
I discover that COS is open. I've been here recently, but it will have to do.
Update: Not a public holiday. Just hot, and things are still closed after new year.
After the holidays, and some very hot weather, the restaurant is booked out. They'll have a table in about an hour, so they take my number.
I head off to a nearby pub, and utilise their couch for a while.
It takes until 9:00 for a table to free up.
Five minutes later, I'm seated.
Ten minutes after that, my drinks haven't arrived.
I wanted to go to Matsuri, next door, but those lazy bums are having their one day off a year.
There's a giant conveyor belt of food in the middle, but all the seats around it are taken.
I'm seated along the wall. There's an iPad here, which I'm told I can order from. I can also just grab things from the conveyor belt. I'll see if that's possible. This iPad is mounted to the wall, at a 90° to me.
