June 2014
At the famous Amalfi. We used to go here when I was smaller, and ate less pizza.
The room is packed with diners. There's a loud hubbub, just from the density of people in here.
At The Kentish.
It's a busy night, and there are Kents everywhere. There are Kents at the front bar, Kents on the pavement, and a few more Kents in the restaurant section, where I'm shown to my table.
This is a very small cafe. Due to my late booking (13 minutes before arriving), I'm relegated to a counter. However, my chair has a proper back, so it's okay. :)
After a few days of very average and boring feeds, I decided to prune my wish list of restaurants. I'm now going to only a selection of interesting-looking places in the "$$" category.
This place is actually reasonably fancy. :)
Meesu very pleased to be here!
I'm shown to my table by a boy of ten or so.
I'm recommended the three Clay Pot dishes. One contains chicken. Meesu not think dat chicken be a vegetable.
In a little cluster of high-rating Asian restaurants, at the very bottom of Pulteney Street.
I can SMELL CORIANDER!!! :O It's slightly offputting. I must remain wary in this dangerous place.
It's a very quiet night at The Balti House. Just me and a table of four here.
I had assumed this place would be Baltic cuisine, but it turns out to be Indian. Just as long as it's not Balti Towers. ;D
:|
I'm here, at Rice. I'm hoping to be served an entire meal, but if I just get rice, I'll understand.
After a few "feed fails", I've come to the last place in the area that's on my list. The first restaurant was closed, and the second restaurant wasn't a restaurant. It was a bar.
I'm recommended a Thaali banquet. It's a banquet for one. That's my favourite kind of banquet.
The waiter helps me dodge the spicy and coriander-infested items.
The waiter returns to inform me that there's coriander powder in all the banquet options.
Banquet cancelled.
I'm not sure, but I think they're going to make something special for me. He didn't ask for any details.
WA-SAAAAAAIIIIIIII!!!!!!
Urbanspoon's "$$" price category is full of Australian pubs, and foreign restaurants. My feeling is that the foreign restaurants will be far superior to the pubs.
