FILLET 10A

With baked potato with sour cream and chives, plus salad bar.

Will refrain from slew of “well done” jokes.

Couple on neighbouring table goofing around. Waitresses thinking they’re getting engaged.

Steak was soft and juicy, and once I located its low-lying sauce, perfectly salty. Normally, I’m not a huge fan of steaks, but this is probably one of the best steaks I’ve had. The potato tasted much creamier and smoother than a regular potato, but was actually just a well-cooked potato. The salad bar items, including the house dressing were better than your usual salad bar fare.

Wait was a bit long, but not unacceptably so, especially when ordering a well-done steak. Was given free drink.

DANISH SUNDAE

I asked if it was just some crap out of the fridge, but apparently it’s not.

The first stratum of this dessert was a home-made vanilla ice cream. It was slightly softer and milder than the regular stuff, but little different. The honeycomb chunks in top were fairly potent, and really spiced up this stratum. The next stratum contained only strawberries. I didn’t plan ahead, however, so I had no vanilla ice cream left by this stage. I ate the strawberries with the stratum below, which was a very rich caramel mousse. The final stratum was roasted almonds and hazelnuts, which I combined with a small amount of the caramel mousse. If I have this dessert again, I’ll plan out a better strategy.
