The Kentish
At The Kentish.
It's a busy night, and there are Kents everywhere. There are Kents at the front bar, Kents on the pavement, and a few more Kents in the restaurant section, where I'm shown to my table.
Skordalia, roasted artichoke & red pepper compote.
There's a lot of typical steaks, parmigiana, and fish & chips on the menu here, but there's also a Chef's Specials section, with food for fancy Kents like me.
The fish is juicy and salty, which is how I like salmon. The capsicum sauce is slightly simple, but it adds a crude taste and spice to the fish.
The skordalia is very potent. It's mashed potato and garlic. Two dollops of it is enough for me.
Raspberry coulis & double cream.
A bad brownie is just a chocolate cake. This is a good brownie. It's moist and has a very strong chocolate taste.
The raspberry coulis isn't sweet, but it doesn't need to be. It just adds a tang to the brownie.
There's not enough double cream here, relative to the monolithic brownie. Next time, I will ask for triple double cream, for a total of 6 cream.
